RestylaneTM-- Filling in the Gaps.

If you have deep facial wrinkles along the folds of the nose (nasolabial folds), deep scars or thin lips you can restore fullness and volume to these areas through the use of RestylaneTM. RestylaneTM is made out of hyaluronic acid, a naturally occurring substance in your body. RestylaneTM maintains its shape and provides lost fullness to skin areas by binding with your body's own moisture. Although collagen is still available, it is no longer considered the state of the art in facial fillers. Unlike RestylaneTM, collagen is derived from cows. There are other hyaluronic acids on the market, but they are derived from roosters, so be sure to ask about the content of any fillers your physician plans to use.

Because RestylaneTM is made from a natural body chemical and free from animal protein, you don't have to worry about animal-based disease transmission or allergic reactions when you have it applied. A flexible, gel-like substance, RestylaneTM can flow when injected, giving a smooth look to the face, deep scars, or the lips rather than the stiffer, lumpy appearance associated with collagen. When combined with Micro Laser PeelTM and Botox in a layered complementary approach, you can dramatically reduce the appearance of age creating skin fold, deep skin scars, or enhance thin lips, while still maintaining a natural look with minimal recovery and immediate and lasting results.

Q.  How Does It Work?
A.  RestylaneTM is injected to fill in creases and lines, and gives excellent results in all areas with fine lines. The effects last 6 months or longer, since the RestylaneTM will slowly resolve out of the system. RestylaneTM works by injecting the gel below the line, which pushes the depressed skin crease upwards to level it with surrounding skin. RestylaneTM has been used in over a million treatments in over 60 countries to correct a variety of wrinkles and to enhance lip border and volume.

Q.  What Does It Feel Like?
A.  The injections are given using the finest gauge needle made. Some slight bruising may result depending on the person's physical tendencies. Slight swelling and temporary redness may occur after the needle is injected but this resolves in a day or two.
